In "Socialism In The Bible," Byron Goines utilizes irrefutable scriptural facts to prove the existence of socialism in the Bible. A selected excerpt from the audiobook "Democratic Socialism" by Byron Goines...is utilized to prove that socialism was ordained by God the Father, and confirmed by Jesus Christ.
Merriam-Webster's online dictionary defines "socialism" as:
[any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods]
Merriam-Webster's online dictionary defines "theocracy" as:
[government of a state by immediate divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided]
In the tithing system under the Law, God and the Israelites owned and administered the means of production and the distribution of goods, which makes this collective and governmental ownership of the means of production and distribution of goods. The Israelites owned, and administered ten percent of their animals for one purpose...which was to feed the Levites, strangers to the land (today's society calls them undocumented immigrants), the fatherless, and widows. The Israelites shared responsibility for this system of socialism called the "tithe," which is defined as "ten percent." The law...which included the tithing system..was a government established by God for the Israelites...and under the guidance of the Levitical Priesthood. God's commands for the Israelites included the Levitical Priesthood...who were the tribe of Levi...who were set apart to serve in the tabernacle of the congregation. The law was a government, in which there was collective and governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods...as proven in the "God ruled" governmental system under the law. In the theocratic government established by God concerning the tithing system, God and the Israelites owned and administered the means of production and the distribution of goods. In the democratically elected government in the constitutional Republic of the United States, established by the framers of the United States constitution...the people collectively own and administer the means of production and distribution of goods, through the democratically elected government. The people own and administer their money through the governmental tax system, in order to pay for social programs that benefit people in need of help, concerning distribution of goods. The definition of socialism fits right into the democratically elected government established by the framers of the United States constitution. The definition of socialism fits right into the theocratic government, that was commanded by God for the Israelites. The constitutional Republic of the United States is a "common good" government, where the people pay taxes for the common good. The theocracy established by God for the Israelites was a "common good" government, in which the Israelites would tithe animals for the common good...and this included feeding strangers in the land (today's society calls them undocumented immigrants).
The United States contains a mixture of socialism and capitalism. The socialism side of the United States, contain all of the social programs to provide a safety net for the poor through the government. Merriam-Webster's online dictionary defines capitalism as:
[an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market]
The capitalism side of the United States is not connected to the government. Wealth creation...or in other words... the creation of capital, is the goal of capitalism. Concerning capital, Merriam-Webster's online dictionary states the following:
"Capital is wealth—that is, money and goods—that's used to produce more wealth. Capitalism is practiced enthusiastically by capitalists, people who use capital to increase production and make more goods and money. Capitalism works by encouraging competition in a fair and open market. Its opposite is often said to be socialism. Where a capitalist economy encourages private actions and ownership, socialism prefers public or government ownership and control of parts of the economy. In a pure capitalist system, there would be no public schools or public parks, no government programs such as Social Security and Medicare, and maybe not even any public highways or police. In a pure socialist system, there wouldn't be any private corporations. In other words, there's just about no such thing as pure capitalism or pure socialism in the modern world."
The socialism side of the United States consists of a "common good" governmental system, which utilizes socialism to help "the least of these," who are the people in need of help. The government established by God for the Israelites performed this function of socialism...just as the democratic government in the United States performs this function of socialism today. Capitalism has widened the gap between the rich and the poor. A February 8, 2019 Fortune article, by Natasha Bach, entitled: "The 400 Richest Americans Own a Greater Share of Wealth Than the Bottom 150 Million," states the following:
"the 400 richest people in the U.S., or the top 0.00025%, have tripled their share of wealth in that time. Meanwhile, the 150 million Americans in the bottom 60% have seen a decline from a 5.7% share in 1987 to a 2.1% share in 2014."
There is one solution available to rectify the wealth gap problem. The "socialism" component in the United States has to be be brought up higher...in order to reverse the economic inequality that exists in the United States. When this is done...the capitalists will experience greater financial growth...and the poor and middle class will be lifted up to a higher standard of living, as poverty is eliminated in the United States...making the United States a model nation for the rest of the world to follow to end poverty in their nations. Everyone from the bottom of the ladder to the top of the ladder will benefit from "trickle-up" economics, as the money is placed at the bottom of the ladder to the poor and middle class...instead of money being placed at the top of the ladder to the rich in a "trickle-down" economy.
We have a plan that can end poverty in the United States...bringing the poor and middle class up to a higher standard of living...with all United States citizens living a life of dignity. The best part of all with our plan...is that it will not cost any taxpayer money to reach the goal of ending poverty in the United States. We have drafted proposed legislation...and are continuing to draft proposed legislation that will address this issue. The task before us is not an easy task, but it is achievable. It will require a Congress that will pass the proposed legislation, and a President that will sign the proposed legislation. Read more about us here
