Fear Not

We are living in a time when it seems like the love of many are growing colder and colder, not to mention the spirit of fear gripping the hearts of many. There are many passages in the word of God encouraging us not to fear. The only escape for any of us is Jesus, he stands at the door of our hearts, knocking and admonishing us to open up and let him in. He says these words in Revelation chapter 3:20; “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” His grace is sufficient, and his love is everlasting, not willing that any one of us should perish, but that all come to him, repent and accept him as our personal Lord and Savior. John chapter 3:16 reads: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. There are those who use their words to stoke fear in the minds of many, not realizing that words have power to either give life or take away life. Proverbs 18:21 reads: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. I wish that people were tired of the evil and negativity going on in their lives from generation to generation. Our Lord God loves us more than we can imagine. He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind as stated in 2nd Timothy chapter 1:7. He wants us to make the decision to trust in him and believe his word. Jesus is the word of God that came to earth in the flesh and it is his word we ought to believe in. When he says, fear not, we need to listen and fear no man, When Jesus, who is the word of God, says he has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind. We must listen to his still small voice and believe it. Jesus is our prince of peace, and our high tower, keeping us safe from all harm, seen and unseen. Many are afraid of the mass murders going on here in America, which is a direct result of the evil, hatred and bigotry being spewed out of the mouths of those who are in leadership, as well as those who claim to be Christians. The hearts of many are also failing them because of the evil going on around the world. The fear of what’s coming upon the earth is causing the hearts of many to fail them. This is the reason why we need to place our faith in our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ. He promises that he will never leave nor forsake us. Those who promote this evil, are not getting away with the evil they are committing.

This is the reason why we should not fear, faith is supreme over fear, meaning it is stronger than fear. Fear drains the energy of those who live by it. In Isaiah chapter 41:10 we are encouraged by the Lord with these words.” Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

In John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Since Jesus is the way the truth and the life, we are encouraged to have faith and believe in him and his word. He will never leave nor forsake us. “In Revelation chapter 21:8 we read: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Hebrews 11:1 reads: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” We must believe that everything will work out for our good. Only faith in our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ will shield and protect us from the evil going on around the world.

"The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace."  Is our earnest prayer.
